TOV LIFESTYLE | 23 | Al and Dr. Dereky Martin Hagler of D&A Designs are an award winning, husband and wife, dynamic duo construction and interior design team. They pride themselves on giving that "WOW" factor when transforming homes and commercial establishments. Their motto is "we not only transform spaces but transform lives". They feel that God himself is the master creator and they are honored that God has blessed them with a gift of interior design and creativity. It is their goal to be a blessing with everyone that encounters their gift, by going above and beyond to exceed their clients' expectations. D&A Designs plays many positions and serves many roles. They have been together for 27 years and counting, and husband and wife for 18 years. Al and Dereky are co- parents to their amazing daughters Joi, 19 and Brooke, 9. Al is the lead contractor with over 30 years of contracting experience and Dereky has over 13 years of interior design experience. They are co-business owners, and both are the creative force behind their creations. Being together 24/7, they have found a successful balance between marriage and work. D&A Designs is an award winning firm receiving multiple awards for their designs including the prestigious award of the Top 20 African American Interior Designers of the World. They have a host of clients and projects including Nigel Brandham of the Super Bowl Champion Eagles, NBA superstar Dwight Howard, Love & Hip Hop Yandy Smith, Cardi B (shhhhh! that's a secret), Tameka Scott of Xcape and so many more! Out of all the projects they've worked on, their favorite ones are the philanthropic efforts to restore fire damaged homes for homeowners who have lost everything in a tragic home fire. Each year they select a family to work with. Not only do they restore their home to their dream home but they donate their furniture and design services as well. So far D&A Designs has worked with 4 homeowners over the past 3 years doing their own version of Extreme Home Makeover. This dynamic duo were final contestants on HGTV 's Flipping The Block and it's their goal and aspiration to have a design and remodeling show on a major network. Their upcoming projects include a furniture line, pillow and decor line, and more projects for clients in the Entertainment Arena.
